If President Putin considers a career as a butler after retiring from politics, he may not succeed. At least if his mishandling of a chair used by visiting Recep Erdogan of Turkey is any indication.
Playing a courteous host to the Turkish president in Sochi, Putin apparently tried to slide the piece of furniture back just as Erdogan was standing up, footage of the meeting showed. The chair however tilted and fell when Putin released it. But Erdogan, apparently didn’t mind, while a flock of aides quickly rushed in to fix the situation.
Erdogan was visiting Putin on Wednesday along with their Iranian counterpart, Hassan Rouhani, to discuss the Syrian peace process.
