Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is visiting India on a two-day trip aimed at strengthening trade and investment ties.
The 11th annual summit between the two nations will begin on Tuesday and is expected to result in more than a dozen signed agreements. Plans to strengthen economic ties, as well as further cooperation on terrorism, defense, nuclear energy and trade, are expected to dominate talks between Dmitry Medvedev and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh."The forum is a vivid confirmation of the dynamic development of trade, financial and investment ties that have a positive impact on further strengthening the strategic partnership between Russia and India, which is characterised by a high quality of political trust, centuries-old traditions of friendship, and a coincidence of proximity of approaches to solving the main international problems," a statement by First Deputy Prime Minister Sergey Ivanov read.
