Bernie Sanders’ endorsement of Hillary Clinton didn’t go down well with many of his supporters, who are loudly expressing their discontent at the democratic convention, prompting the Vermont senator to once again implore the rebels to support her.
At a California delegation breakfast at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) on Tuesday, Sanders reiterated his call for his followers to show party unity in order to “defeat Donald Trump and elect Hillary Clinton.”
However, the crowd did not appear to be decided on abandoning Sanders’ solidly left-wing message in favor of an establishment candidate, meeting his words with a mixture of applause and boos.
“It’s easy to boo,” he repeated over a raucous crowd. “But it is harder to look your kids in the face who would be living under a Donald Trump presidency.”
“Donald Trump is the worst candidate for president in the modern history of this country,” the Vermont senator added.
On Monday, Sanders wrapped up the day’s convention with a similar plea.
“Based on her ideas and her leadership, Hillary Clinton must become the next president of the United States. The choice is not even close,” the self-described democratic socialist said to his supporters, while receiving both warm and cold reactions from the crowd.
Earlier that day, Sanders delegates had heckled and booed various Democratic speakers, such as House Minority leader and California Secretary of State Alex Padilla.

Insurgent Sanders supporters were emboldened last week when WikiLeaks released a trove of documents proving that the supposedly neutral Democratic National Committee had been biased against the Bernie Sanders campaign and potentially colluded with the Clinton campaign in working against it.
