Lebanon: the slow pull-out

Gaza violence continuing, the UN-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah remained largely intact.

Israel slowly began withdrawing troops from south Lebanon. Chief of staff Dan Halutz said the pull-out could be completed within ten days. In north Israel, life began returning to normal as thousands headed home.
