Diplomat expulsion linked to Anna Chapman
The Russian diplomat expelled from Ireland on Tuesday was the source of fake IDs for Russian undercover agents in the US, claims British newspaper The Guardian.
Ireland launched an investigation into the Russian diplomats six months ago after Anna Chapman and other agents were arrested. Some of them had Irish passports, and Dublin police believe that the personal details of six Irish citizens used in the documents had been stolen, the report says.Earlier, Irish authorities announced the expulsion of an employee of the Russian embassy in Dublin for alleged involvement in forgery of Irish passports. The Russian Foreign Ministry called the expulsion “an unfriendly act” and said a proper reaction will follow.
