How will abortion impact the 2024 election?

Since the reversal of Roe v Wade, Democrats have overperformed as abortion takes center stage in elections. First, there was no red wave in the 2022 midterms and then the one state where abortion was on the ballot, Ohio, voted to enshrine the right to abortion in the state constitution. Virginia lost the majority with many Democrats running on the platform of preventing republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who has been extremely popular in the state, from passing a 16 week abortion ban. When single issues were on the ballot such as crime for the many high profile DA races, conservative candidates won. But abortion seems to be the Republican party’s kryptonite. On this episode of 360 View Scottie Nell Hughes discusses with a panel of experts (Angela McArdle, Chair of the Libertarian National Committee; Desi K Robinson, Health Professor, Doula) whether or not the Democrats will carry this momentum into 2024, or if President Joe Biden’s lack of popularity will persuade voters to vote red.
