Noah’s Ark Donetsk

In this zoo in Donbass, there are bears, tigers, lions, and thousands of other animals. Each animal has a heart-wrenching story – they had to be rescued from shelling. Now, the animals are safe, and for 10 years, Gennady Kryazhev has been bringing new inhabitants to his zoo. His dream is to create an oasis of calm and safety for rare and suffering animals, while also providing local children with an opportunity to escape the hardships. Children come to the zoo every week – it's the only place in the Donetsk region where kids can forget about the constant Ukrainian shelling and just play. Take an inside look at this peaceful haven.
