Laughing through danger & extreme poverty
On this week’s episode of VIP, Lee analyzes the political language and other propaganda the US media uses to frame debates – making his points with footage from MSNBC’s coverage of Venezuela. Larry Charles, the director of the smash-hit mockumentary ‘Borat’ and a writer on ‘Seinfeld’, comes on the show in the second half. Charles recently released ‘Larry Charles’ Dangerous World of Comedy’ on Netflix. Charles and Lee sit down to discuss the places Charles visited to make his show and the comedians who live in those places. Charles interviewed comics in war zones and areas of intense poverty – including war-torn Iraq and Native American reservations in the US.
