Russiagate finally dies & more American hypocrisy (w/ Jesse Ventura)
To open the show this week, Lee revels in the death of the Russiagate conspiracy theory after years of concentrated propaganda from the corporate media. A former CNN correspondent, Krystal Ball, reported on the failures of the media to report critically on the story, while pundits like Lee, Aaron Mate, Glenn Greenwald and Max Blumenthal held a strong vanguard of critical reporting against the Trump-Russia collusion narrative. The whole time, they were attacked by the corporate media for their criticism and now the story is dead, you can bet they won’t receive an apology.
In the second half of the show, Lee sits down with Jesse Ventura to discuss what it’s like to be an anti-war voice in the US’ corporate media infrastructure. Ventura is currently an RT anchor but he was supposed to host a show on MSNBC during the early years of the Iraq war. He was barred from his MSNBC show for expressing anti-war views and his multimillion dollar contract stopped him from reporting for anyone else for three years. His humanitarian perspectives are also bolstered by his service as a naval seal and a term as the governor of Minnesota.
