Plastic fantastic: Real Madrid unveil new kit from recycled waste pulled from oceans (PHOTOS)
A new pink Real Madrid third strip, designed by Parley Ocean Plastic in collaboration with Adidas and made from reconstituted ocean waste, was unveiled by Marcelo, Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and others in New York.
The new kit, which is now available in Adidas stores across the globe, is part of a new range of sporting apparel which is designed by reconstituting plastic waste from oceans into high performance footwear and sports gear.
Cyrill Gutsch, of Parley Ocean Plastic, said of the collaboration: “Real Madrid has the power to amplify our message, to share it with their massive global following and to bring it to life with their own decisions and actions.”
The color of the strip is nod towards the various shades of coral which are under threat by the rise of sea pollution, particularly by non-biodegradable plastic.

Real Madrid are expected to wear the new kit for the first time when they face Roma on Tuesday as part of their pre-season tour of America in New Jersey.

Los Blancos will then face city rivals Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup before beginning their La Liga campaign with a home fixture against Getafe.
