Paralympic boss impressed with Sochi 2014 preparations

The organizers of Sochi 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Games have managed to deliver what they promised says International Paralympic Committee president, Philip Craven.

With less than two years to go before the start of the two events, the global sporting authorities continue to inspect venues and infrastructure in the Russian host city.

Craven, who visited for the first time this week, says almost 2000 venues will be easy to access for people with disabilities.“Every citizen will have the right to come and spectate and come and enjoy,” the 61-year-old said. “And that’s what the Paralympic movement is about. That is what I was convinced that Sochi 2014 has started with and now we see that it’s delivered. We’ve seen it delivered. We’ve seen the curling venue, we’ve seen the stadium just now and the smaller ice hockey venue.”    

The Winter Paralympics in Sochi will become 11th time in history and the first ever held on Russian soil.
