Anonymous threatens Bernanke

Anonymous threatens Bernanke

A video uploaded to the Web over the weekend credited to the hacker group Anonymous is calling out Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke to resign.

In the four-and-a-half minute long YouTube clip, the secretive online assailants denounce Bernanke for not heeding their request from three months earlier to step down from the FED. “The Federal Reserve gave trillions of American taxpayer dollars, in secrecy, to the people who were most responsible for causing out economic crisis,” recites a robotically-altered narrator in the clip. “The Federal Reserve is responsible for crimes against humanity,” declares the voice. In a movement that the infamous hackers are dubbing "CTRL+ALT_BERNANKE," the group is calling for protesters across the country to rally against the chairman on Tuesday, June 14—Flag Day. “We cannot remain passive while our future is going up in flames,” Anonymous warns. “It is time for us to stand up for ourselves. It is time for you to stand up for yourself. We must restore the rule of law and fight back against the organized criminal class. We must now launch operation Empire State Rebellion.”Anonymous has also provided a link to a Google Map page that highlights protest locations for tomorrow’s series of national rallies. The group is asking participants to “occupy a public space” until Bernanke resigns, while also lobbying for a list of demands, including ending the campaign finance and lobbying racket and enforcing RICO laws against the organized criminal class.Since the video was published on YouTube rallies have been planned in New York City, Washington DC, Chicago, San Francisco and elsewhere. The description given online for the YouTube video said these protests will be the “first step” in the operation.Speaking to RT, journalist David DeGraw says that, at only 17 hours before the protests are slated to begin, demonstrations will happen in 23 different cities across America. Degraw himself will be participating with others at a park in Manhattan's Financial District and says he'll be staying there "until our demands are met."According to DeGraw, "if you are one of the 99 percent of Americans, you have the core common sense goal to achieve" the mission statement outlined by Anonymous.
